How Much Money You Can Make As A Cam Girl

As a cam model, the one question I’m asked more than any other question is, “So, how much money could I make as a cam girl?” It’s actually a hard question to answer and one that I kind of have to answer with an asterisk because the answer really is this: it depends.

I know, I know. That isn’t what you want to hear.

Make Money Camming

You want to hear that every single day you’re going to bring in more money than you’ve ever had in your life. You want to hear that you can quit the crummy job you have now (no offense) and make a damn good living on showing your bits and putting on shows and never have to work again. You want to hear that your bank account is going to be swole.

And the truth of the matter is, all of those things could come true. But, chances are, they won’t unless you’re a top-tier cam girl. The sad reality of camming is that the waters are full of women looking to make ends meet and they’re really a dime a dozen right now.

You also aren’t going to make Boku-bucks every single day. You’re going to have bad nights, average nights, and some damn good nights. You’re going to also get paid in “stuff” sometimes and while it’s cool to get gifts, those gifts aren’t going to pay your rent and feed you.

So, if you’re considering a career change and dipping your toes into the cam world, consider these facts on how much a cam girl can make.

what is camming

What Camming Is and Isn’t

Before I delve into the money aspect completely, let me first say that camming isn’t dirty, isn’t something you get into to sell your soul, and isn’t something that you should be ashamed of.

You aren’t going to be signing on the dotted line of a contract where the Devil promises you riches beyond your wildest dreams. If that’s what you think cam work is, then you aren’t ready to become a cam model.

Instead, camming is hard work. Like, really hard work. Sure, you get to work from home (or a studio if you’re bougie), but otherwise, you’ve got to realize that you’re only going to get out of it what you put into it. I know some models who are online 12 hours a day, 6-7 days a week to make that money.

Those are the most successful girls and the ones that know the game and how to play it. They are also the ones that get the most money because they look at camming as what it really is, a job. This is something you have to work on to make the most money, just like any other job out there.

However, if you don’t think you want to put that much time into your cam shows, I get it. Maybe camming is going to be a part-time gig for you. The great thing about cam work is that you can still make money that way too!

There are different types of cam work that you can do, which opens up the possibilities even more. Some women are strictly into cam shows on dedicated cam sites, like Chaturbate and Bonga Cams. Those are places where you do shows and pay a portion of your income from those shows to the sites you’re working for.

They are a great place to start if you’re a total newbie and want to see if cam work is something you’re even interested in. Once you’ve given it a try, you can always branch out and work for more sites (although make sure you read their terms and conditions, you might not be able to cross-post or work for another company while on the one you’ve chosen), or take your cam work into an entirely different direction, like becoming an online sugar baby.

Cam Girl Income Can Be Eye-Popping

Now, let me tell you, my lovelies, that if you are a successful cam girl, you can make some amazing money. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the top-notch girls can bring in anywhere $50-100,000 a month, or more, with their cam work.

Wait…whaaat? Are you serious, girlfriend?

As serious as a heart attack, my friends!

Top cam models can make eye-popping amounts of money, especially the girls who are in the fetish markets. Guys are kinky and they’re willing to pay women who will indulge their deepest desires, albeit through cyber means. If you’re into fetishes, or you think you might be, do a little research and see what gets the biggest bucks and consider doing those sorts of things.

The Reality of What Cam Girls Can Make

The photo above is a whale. It represents the whale cam consumer that you just hooked! Now, I wish I could say that those numbers I gave you were what all cam girls make, but it would be wrong for me to say that every single night I bring in a lot of money. In fact, I have had nights where I brought in absolutely nothing. But when it’s good, it can be REALLY, REALLY, good.

Yep, I have had work nights where I was on for 4 hours and didn’t even make a dime. It’s just the nature of the cam game. Cam sites vary so much on their traffic, busy hours, amount that you get to keep, and it’s up to you to research these kinds of things to make the most money and find those “whales”, or guys with the deepest pockets.

The reality of cam work is that for us “regular” ladies, the ones who aren’t in the 1%, cam modeling is going to pay less. Don’t get me wrong, you can still make it a good living, you just have to be realistic.

On my slow days, I can earn from $0-$100 a night. That’s when the site is just dead, or my regular customers aren’t around. Really good nights bring in a few hundred to $1,000.

I consider a great night anything over $1,500, especially when I choose to work no more than four hours a night on cam shows.

In any given month, I have more really good nights than other types of nights, but I also do kink work. Again, it’s going to really depend on what you’re willing to do in a show, what site(s) you work for, the busy times of those sites, and their traffic.

you better work!

Final Thoughts: Camming Can Bring in the Money…But It Takes Work

If you’re a cam girl, or boy, in the making, you’re going to make some money. It might take a bit of time; nobody gets rich from the start, and it definitely takes work. You have to put the time in, get yourself looking and acting right, and getting settled into what works and what doesn’t in a show.

If you can do those things, and you open yourself up to some other possibilities (selling “products” of yourself, kinks, multiple people in shows, a uniqueness about you that people find intriguing, being a sugar baby or online domme, etc…) the amount of money you can make as a cam girl can be endless…just don’t expect it from the beginning.
